With the modern technology in the world today, dental care and oral hygiene products are constantly improving. Because of this, perfect smiles are easier to reach. One of the newest improvements in oral hygiene is a water flosser. Water flossers are beneficial tools that make flossing easier and more enjoyable. This is very important because it will help many people make flossing a priority and it will save thousands of smiles from tooth decay and gum disease.

A water flosser is a small, wand-like tool that sprays water out of the tip in pulses. The water effectively removes plaque and food particles from the crevices of your teeth.

How to Use a Water Flosser

–Make sure the base, also known as the reservoir, is filled with lukewarm water. Next, select the tip you would like to use to clean your smile. Finally, adjust the pressure control to the level you prefer. Most people like to start at the lowest pressure.

–Lean over the sink and press the tip of the water flosser in your mouth. Close your lips around the tip and turn the unit on. It’s important to keep your lips tight around the flosser otherwise the water will spray everywhere.

–Start cleaning your smile by rinsing between your back teeth. Make sure you pause briefly at every crevice of your smile. Make sure the water thoroughly washes the area. When cleaning your smile, aim the flosser tip just above the gumline at a 90-degree angle.

–When you are done washing the food particles and plaque from between your teeth, turn the unit off and then press the “Tip Eject” button to remove the tip.
